The objective of this book was to recover the scriptural basis of gender equality in Islam. Patriarchal structure and gender relationships are a function of multiple factors in many societies. In order to reclaim gender equality among Muslim societies one needs to examine what can be inferred from the Qur’an and what has been read into it.
